Fun with ATC's - Classic Films

When I saw this challenge prompt over at Fun With ATC's, I immediately thought I wanted to do something with it, because I love old movies. After which it totally escaped my attention and I forgot completely about it.

Untill this weekend, when I found myself in need of an ATC to send out with my little package to my one hundredth follower (Jan). So I made a few inspired by the prompt from Fun with ATC's and some old movie stars I loved watching when I was a child.

Here are some close-up shots and a sneek peek at the package for Jan.

Summer of Color 3, week 4 - charcoal grey and pale pink

I actually made two projects for the Summer of Color this week. I started with a journal page, that at first went horribly wrong. While I was thinking about how to proceed with the journal page I made two ATC's. I think they turned out really cute.

I finally knew how I wanted to finish my journal page and even made a video.

Since I filmed the whole process, I don't have progress pics, but I do have loads of detail shots. So be warned, this is a picture heavy post.

WOYWW 213, or is it?

Yet another wednesday and time to snoop around the world at other people's workdesks. If you're new here and want to know what this is all about, just hop on over to Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground and she'll explain it all to you.

Today it's time for WOYWW 213, indeed really 213. Last weeks confusion about the number did give me a giggle here and there. I'll make it short and sweet, well I'll give it a go at least.

This time Not a photo of what's on my workdesk, but one of what isn't on my workdesk anymore. I got this really cute hanging rack at a discount. It has lots of room for all sorts of little thingies. Really happy with that.

I also decided to clean out this old ship trunk and store my recycled papers, cardboard and my dies in there. I finally got rid of the last remnants of my kids toys, the playmobil has now taken up residence in the attick.

I've been working on several things last week, but I can only show you some small previews, since they are either not finished, or they are finished but the video that's supposed to go with it isn't.

Here are some quick shots of what I\ve been working on.

WOYWW 210

It's time for yet another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, #210 already, over at Julia's Stamping Ground. Time does fly these days. If you want to know what this is all about, just hop on over to her blog and she'll explain it all to you.

My desk is still a mess from making the book cover for my art journal while simultaniously working on a journal page for The Summer of Color, Week One. Who has time to clean up, right?
So I'll just show you a tiny part of my desk this time, a sneek peek at my journal page and some of the things I'll be using on the page.

I have now come to this stage in the page where there are some parts of the page that I realy like. I find this to be the most difficult part, because you know it's not done, but going forward could go either way.
Here is one of the parts that I realy like in this page. Followed by some Lovely ATC's from the WOYWW4 swap.

WOYWW 209

It's time again for yet another What's on your workdesk wednesday over at Julia's Stamping ground. My workdesk seems to be an ever growing chaos of bits and pieces.

On my workdesk you can see the ATC I received from the lovely Nikki C.

Here's a close up of the ATC and talking tag she sent me and some journal pages I've been working on.

ATC's for WOYWW4 swap

As I didn't finish the ATC's for the WOYWW4 swap in time to post them on the day itself, I promised to show them when I finished them. I finished them on thursday and yesterday I put them in envelopes and sent them of to their recipients.

I also made some cardholders to go with them, to prevent them getting damaged in the mail.

My first swap

A while back I took part in the altered playing card challenge over at Sandee and Amelie's steampunk challenge blog and I forgot to mention how happy I was when I found out that my altered playing cards were spotlighted at Sandee and Amelie's steampunk challenge blog. Such a lovely surprise =).

These cards brought yet another suprise because after I posted my APC's for the altered playing card challenge over at Sandee and Amelie's steampunk challenge blog, I received lots of sweet messages. Among which there was one message from a lovely, very talented, lady. Her name is Dagmar and you can find her wonderful blog here. Dagmar mentioned in her comment that she would love to add one of the cards to her ATC collection. I was delighted that she liked them so much, so I wrote her a message telling her that I would gladly sent one to her.  She wrote me a lovely message back in which she offered to sent me one of her ATC's in return.

I was over the moon as this was now my very first swap. I love sending gifts, I love surprises and I love getting mail, but...well there allways a but isn't there, I didn't know how to get the ATC to her in one piece. Nor what is common practice when doing a swap.

So I did some research and Dagmar sent me some tips. I found a nice free picture online for the back of the card and a bubble envelope, large enough for the ATC. I was however still afraid it might bend or break in the mail and after thinking a while, I figured I would make a little book to put the ATC in. And since I love making books and trying new things, I made her a little ATC booklet.

I even remembered to make some "making off" shots.

WOYWW 208

Today will be a very short WOYWW post, as my mother is keeping me company this week. Which means I won't be online as much as I would normally be. Still I didn't want to miss the big 4 year anniversary of WOYWW over at Julia's Stamping Ground.

I only found this blog a few months ago and this will be my 4th post. So far I have shown you my rather messy workdesk, the view from my workdesk and whats's behind my workdesk. Today however, as my mother is here, I will show you my dinner table.

The table has been converted to crafting workdesk for as long as she is here. I must confess, I do like working there, because there is a lot more room to play....less room to eat though...

As you can see, the ATC's for the WOYWW4 anniversary ATC swap are on the table. They are not yet entirely finished, but I think they look cute already.

Corrugated ATC

I have never made an ATC before and I thought it would be fun do try my hand at one. I didn't know what makes an ATC. So I looked it up and apparently it's all about the size, 3.5" by 2.5". Now this I should be able to do, as I have made books many times smaller than that.

I also wanted to enter into the Electric papery challenge- march, corrugated cardstock/cardboard, so it would have to incorporate corrugated cardboard of some sort. I had some whitewashed corrugated cardboard, sliced some ATC sized cards from this and started playing around with them. Layering several pieces onto each other. I kept coming back to some sort of door construction, so that's what I made.
