My last WOYWW was #215, so I missed quite a few desks while I was away, but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. I even played around with some paint again these last few days. Not to much mind you, because I first had to clear away all the mess I made before I went on holliday. So I could start making a whole new mess.
And a mess I made =)
Here's a birdseye view of my mess. On the right you can see my mothers hands. She came by yesterday to pick up my son for a sleepover with his nephews and to work a little in her travel journal.
My workdesk is on the left side and the clean and tidy workdesk I created has long gone. It's once again a huge pile of, well I don't know what. Anything and everything I use, or find, or think I might use. One day is all it took. I actually don't mind it looking like this, as long as I have a spot to work in, that's just fine. I just figure that's what it's for. If I want it to stay neat and tidy, maybe I shouldn't work on it, right?
On my desk you can see a bubble envelope I'm decorating, because I actualy just got my first ever order for 2 little books on my DaWanda site. Yay =).
-------------------------------------
(spoiler alert for Susanna =) ...)
-------------------------------------
I'm so happy with that and honored that somebody would like my booklets so much that they would buy them, that I went ahead and made them a little extra booklet. One of the little file folder journals that I like to make.
Here's a little sneek peek at the order I will be sending out.
I keep everything I sent out together in a little box, so I can keep it overseeable while I work on stuff. I keep some incence in the box so it smells really nice when I open it.
The box is actualy a fake book I got ages ago. It says "geen Sprookjes" which is Dutch for "No fairytales". I got it so long ago that I can't even remember what was in it. I like it though, I think it's cute.
At the risk of spoiling the surprise, I did say spoiler alert =), here's the little book I made specially for her.
The cover is all painted and the spine is covered with some cotton and lace adhered with matt medium.
I had a lot of fun making this booklet and I'm happy with how it turned out. I so hope she likes her package. I'll be sending it out today once I've got the track and trace thing figured out...
Anyway, if you want to snoop at some more workdesk and see what my fellow crafters have been up to, go check out Julia's blog Stamping Ground and she'll explain it all to you.
Happy WOYWW and I wish you all a wonderful week

I know you love making those little books, because of SOC. They blew me away when you showed them each week.
ReplyDeleteI can't really work like that, but it's because my desk is so small. I know if it's how you like to work, then that's how it should look (grin).

Hello Monique, thanks for stopping by yesterday. Glad you enjoyed your holiday, love those little journals you made. Gorgeously messy desk too! Very creative indeed (GRIN). I haven't forgotten about our swap but I haven't had a great idea yet. But after looking at your journal (and given that I'm just trying it out myself) how about a book or journal? Let me know what you think or if you're bored with that idea as you've just done 6!!
ReplyDeleteLove your desk, it looks like a wonderful place to work, er play. That book is fabulous and should be well received.
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious, colourful, creative mess, Monique!! Just how it should be for a WOYWW post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment. Yes, lighting is so important. I've got the same spots in the kitchen, but with halogens instead of LEDs as they are much cheaper, and the colour of the light isn't so vital in there. Hopefully LEDs will come down in price as they get more popular as they are so cheap to run. I have only been taking the new meds for a couple of days and hesitate to think that they may be starting to work already, when the doc said I'd have to wait 2-4 weeks for any improvement but I really think there is an improvement already!!
I have been having awful problems posting comments on blogger so I hope this gets through OK.
Happy belated WOYWW,
