My home used to be in Limburg, the Netherlands and it's hills are never far from my thoughts. I even created "hills" in my garden to remind me of them in the middle of the flat fields I live in today. Although, I suppose, the dikes in the polder could be considered as some sort of hill.
Someday I may go back to Limburg, but for now I'm happy where I am. Pottering away in my garden and my little craft corner. My little hiding place.
I made this page on a background that was used for cleaning of stencils and left over paints.
I'm afraid I didn't make any progress pics, but here are some close ups.
The picture of the girls was a print I had in my stash. She was sealed with a matt varnish. After that was dry I wet a little corner at the back of the picture to get the pinkish blue effect. The edges were then distressed with Peeled paint distress stain.
The tag I had made a while back and never used for anything, felt right in it's place here. I painted the little silver keys blue with acrylic paint and attached them to the tag with a copper ring.
I added a little roof from torn dictionary pages, also distressed with shabby shutters and peeled paint, and added a little filligree corner to the top, which was then painted with the same blue acrylic paint as the keys.
Added Washi tapes and splattered some black ink over the pages.
I also used another little frame that I never used. Stamped some edges and keys and the word Home and added a little journalling about what home means to me.
So there it is, my Home journal page. I had a lot of fun making this one. Just inking and distressing, glueing and stamping and generally, just having fun.
Here's a little snapshot of my rather wild and green garden... but with shelter for the tomatoes. Maybe this is the reason for my love of green lately =).
Thank you for watching and I wish you all a wonderful sunny weekend.
