29 Faces check-in #5, 6 and 7

Here's a quick update with my next faces for the 29 faces in 30 days challenge.

I started out with a quick doodle of a face in one of my journals. Trying to make a face from a more side view.

And I realy wasn't happy with that. I clearly need a lot more practice here.

So I tried the same thing in my bigger altered book art journal. And apparently I am in a green phase right now...note to self: "Try some other colors!

I wasn't happy with the balance on the page, nor with the drawn face.

So I doodled a realy quick funny face in another journal. It took me half a minute, but it made me happy. Look, she even looks happy,

After that I could proceed with the page, having identified what it was that was bugging me.

Added some color accents and journalling about what it was I found out.

I do feel much better about her now and I told myself to Stop Hiding....

I still feel I need a lot more practice with this, but I guess it's alright. I will get there, practice is everything when drawing faces.

So those were my face 5, 6 and 7 for the challenge, still keeping up. I'm off now to check out what my fellow artists are doing with their faces and see if I can find some inspiration in that for my next faces... and maybe lay off the green for a bit.

I wish you all a wonderful sunday and happy painting, or whatever it is that makes you happy =)

  1. This dreamy face I like so far the best. I very much like the combination of collage and drawing/paintig. Very well done!

  7. As far as I'm concerned, you can never have too much green... and I love what happened to that face once you added the pop of red to her lips - she came alive so beautifully. Loving your work on these faces, thank you for sharing your journey...
