Summer Of Color 3, week 6 - Sage and Sepia

The last week of the summer of color allready. Just in time, because next week I will be away on holliday and I won't have time to work in my art journal, let alone write blog posts.

Sage and Sepia are this weeks colors and though I love those colors, I had no clue what I wanted to do. Which, I must admit, does happen quite often.

So I set out to make a journal page, with video again, as I have set this up anyhow and ended up here.

I ran into some trouble while making the video. Or perhaps I should say, I created some trouble, by thoughtlessly deleting some files to make room on the hard drive of the camera.

I tried to recover the files, but somehow my camera wouldn't work with me. After trying to retrieve them for half a day, I decided to relax, take it easy and ingnore the fact that I was missing the beginning of the page. Which for me is quite quick. See, I am learning...

Here are some close-up shots of the page.

I drew her off camera on a piece of packing paper.

I guess I'm still a bit self-concious when the camera is turned on.

I found a beautiful quote, perfect for both the page and me.

"Your mind will answer most questions, if you learn to relax and wait for the answer." - William S. Burroughs.

A wise man and I should listen to him...

Because when I didn't, I got stuck, big time.

Only after relaxing and allowing myself the mistake, I could go on.

I didn't get the files back, but I did finish this page.

I couldn't tell you what I did to this page. Except for what you can see in the video and that I picked a sage leaf in the garden. First to check the color and then to use as a stamp.

I found it very difficult to paint such a tiny face, but I think I did allright and I really love how she turned out.

I love how relaxed she looks in the midst of the chaos around her. She knows how to do it, now I only need to learn to do what she does =).

Thank you all for watching and and if you want to see what others did with the colors Sage and Sepia this week go and check out Kristin's site Twinkle, Twinkle for all their wonderful contributions.

I like your sentiment and your girl that you've added is so pretty. These really are more than journal pages...they are little works of art!
