Yet another wednesday and time to snoop around the world at other people's workdesks. If you're new here and want to know what this is all about, just hop on over to Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground and she'll explain it all to you.
Today it's time for WOYWW 213, indeed really 213. Last weeks confusion about the number did give me a giggle here and there. I'll make it short and sweet, well I'll give it a go at least.
This time Not a photo of what's on my workdesk, but one of what isn't on my workdesk anymore. I got this really cute hanging rack at a discount. It has lots of room for all sorts of little thingies. Really happy with that.
I also decided to clean out this old ship trunk and store my recycled papers, cardboard and my dies in there. I finally got rid of the last remnants of my kids toys, the playmobil has now taken up residence in the attick.
I've been working on several things last week, but I can only show you some small previews, since they are either not finished, or they are finished but the video that's supposed to go with it isn't.
Here are some quick shots of what I\ve been working on.
This painting has been standing in my living room for a while now and it still isn't finished. Last week I collaged the bird onto it and I think I now know how to finish it.
They are finished but I'll show them later, together with the art journal page I made, also for the SOC3. I can't show the page yet, because I'm still working on the video I made while making this page, but here's a sneek preview.
Lastly, I started another japanese stab book. This one is for my husband. Which he requested after I finished my little wisdom book. Obviously I had to try out one of my new embossing folders.
So that's it, I hope I was short enough. If you want to see what other people have been up to last week, just go to Julia's blog, you'll find the links to their workdesks there.
I'm off to visit some workdesks and struggle some more with the video, which I hope to post today, or if not today, then tomorrow.
Thank you all for watching and I wish you a wonderful week.
I think your rack is great! I would love something like that. Gosh! Playmobil! My son - now 22 - loved that. We have a pirate ship in the loft and a magician's tower! Magical loft space! And more of your beautiful art work! You are always such an inspiration, Monique! Julie Ann x #54
ReplyDeleteThe rack and the chest are wonderful, and I love what you have made! Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour rack is fabulous. Your artwork and ATC's are gorgeous. Love the stab book cover.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

The son of a friend of ours had every single playmobile figure etc that was every made, including the galleon. The sad thing was they were not really for playing with, just for looking at. They may be valuable now as they are pristine, but toys are meant to be played with. You have some lovely art work on show this week and I cannot wait to see how the painting is finished. Thank you for your visits today, and your extra info on the poor bumble bees. I still find it hard to understand why they are not protected by law when we are constantly told that bees, in general, are in such serious decline. Have a good week. xx Maggie #3

ReplyDeleteHi Monique-
ReplyDeleteWhat fun storage items...and all those lovely tapes. Yummy. Looks like you have been busy; I'm looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labor! You asked if I made the envelope I've inserted in the 'secret' journal - nope. It is my last one in a mixed set my sister gave me. Sad. But I did take it apart and make a template because I love the size which is also perfect for this size journal! (Folded 8.5 inches by 11 inches which is a standard letter size page for us). Thanks for stopping by the Fun Room!

What a score with the sweet hanging rack..it looks lovely filled with goodies too! Funny isn't it how adding one thing to another can so often tell you how to go about finishing, it's part of the beauty of being able to just leave things for a while and just consider them.
ReplyDeleteLike the start you've made on your husbands stab book - that's a great embossing folder!
oh my word I need that wall hanging in my craft room in my head I have already filled it.
ReplyDeleteYou have been making some amazing pieces really lovely
Happy WOYWW enjoy the rest of your week

WOW!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic place to come for inspiration! Your work is amazing!
SERIOUSLY liking the look of that painting 'in your livingroom'! Can't wait to see that finished. so many layers and textures.
Also like your 'new' storage rack, along with that beaten up old trunk! I came into possesion of an old shipping trunk last year, it has metal edges with the most gorgeous old brasswork catches, corners hunges, latches etc.! It will be one of my most prized possessions as it belong to my dear sweet mother in law who sadly passed away last year.
Thanks for dropping by and also thanks for sharing your wondeful work.
