WOYWW 233

Just a quick WOYWW blogpost before I head over to work, showing you what was on my workdesk last night. Since joining the NaNoWriMo fun, I've been almost completely in book making mode, so of course yesterday I made another set of booklets. This time as a present for a friend of mine that was so kind as to read my raw draft and tell me if I am at all any good.

And when I say raw draft, I mean RAW, because there has been no editing going on and the manuscript is riddled with spelling mistakes and there are no annotations to mark the spoken lines, because those stop the flow of words rattling out of my fingers.

I made her a present to try and express my gratitude.

She's a writer herself and writes wonderful SCI-FI stories and she has a lovely blog.

I thought, what does a writer need most when out and about, well besides a phone these days...

A little notebook, for jotting down random thoughts and awesome story ideas, of course...

So I made her a traveler's notebook, with 2 inserts made by me with the templates, from my free templates page and one fieldnotes sized booklet I had purchased a while back and was just sitting in my closet.

I hope she likes her little book and finds some good use for it.

I also received some wonderful presents from some swaps I was in last week. Those swaps are held by the Midori Traveler's Notebook Nederland group on facebook every wednesday. This was my first time participating, as I was allways doubtfull about swapping. What could I have that anyone might want to swap, right?

Look at all the goodies I was sent.

I had so much fun participating getting my little packages together and then receiving such lovely presents in the mail. All wrapped up nice and pretty.

Now before I go on rambling, I must head off to work!
Later today I will go and hop around those lovely workdesks around the world from Julia's blog, the stamping ground, so maybe I'll see you there.

I wish you a wonderful week.

  5. What a wonderful treasure you made for your friend. Happy mail is always fun, I often wonder what anyone would want to trade for from my stash too. But it is still fun.
Thanks for the visit this week.

  12. I love, love, love your book-making Monique, which has inspired me for some time now! I've heard of the novel writing project and once thought of doing it myself,as long, long ago I had some short stories published and almost got a children's book published. I imagine that your writing is really original and different if it's anything like your art, which I love. Thanks for the kind visit. Sorry I'm so late! Julie Ann xx #29

  14. I'm sure your friend is going to treasure her gift. I just started reading "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. Haven't started doing the morning pages yet - but I could see where stopping to correct or put punctuation would slow down the writing process!

    Happy belated WOYWW
