WOYWW 215

Or maybe I should ask, what isn't on my workdesk, because we are getting ready to go on vacation to Italy next week. So I raided my workdesk to test what needs to come with us for this trip.

My daughter and I have been testing it all out in our backyard, as we haven't a clue what to bring with us.

Trying to keep it simple. So, that's no acrylics for me. I guess I will be doodling and drawing this vacation.

And I really don't do doodle very well, but I'll give it a shot. It'll be a lesson in patience for me, or a sign I should get up and go for a walk or a swim. Or perhaps just be.

Anyway, from next week I won't be writing much on this here medium. All the more in my journals probably. So I won't be participating in our weekly workdesk hop.

I also finished the last page with video for the Summer Of Color yesterday and posted it last night.

This afternoon my mother will come over and we will try and finish our travel kit. Before that I hope to visit some workdesks from all around the world, to check out what others have been up to last week.

So a nice and short post this week. Just like Julia, our hostess from the Stamping ground likes it.

Thank you for watching and I wish tou a wonderful week, or weeks...

  1. Really enjoyed the video. It was so interesting to see the process. I thought the way the little painting was built up was intriguing. You said you had difficulty with it, but I thought it was beautifully and skillfully done. I loved all the layers too. Have a great trip - I envy you visiting Italy - one of my favourite places! Will miss your WOYWW. Julie Ann x #45

  2. I will have to go through the same procedure in a month, when we will leave for our holidays and I already know it won't be easy to decide what to take with me and what to leave at home....

    Enjoy a wonderful holiday!!!!

  4. Your doodles look good to us. We took a sketch book and the basics when we went away but you always wish you'd brought that something else.

  6. Italy, has to be one of my favourite country’s to visit, especially the lakes…….I’m so envious.
It’s easy for me to decide what to take on holiday with me when I go because it’s always my stitching and a couple of good audio books so I can listen while I stitch.
    Have a great holiday.

    Happy Crafting!

  8. I have it too with doodles. I love the effect, but it takes ages and by then I have lost all concentration. I must learn that it doesn't have to be finished in 1 go and that long term projects are okay too! Uniflame - 63

  12. I wish a happy vacation to you and your family Monique...
I can imagine how difficult this is... oh oh...

that´s the reason why I don´t travel this year .... lol...

I always took artist books with me on holidays and magazines ... and I only took the inspiration from the sea or the nature and collected natural pieces...

I think doodeling is a good idea.. there you have to make patience for this...very clever !
    The video is gorgeous too!
    Thank you Monique!
Take care of you and come back with much inspiration and muse !!
    we will miss you!

  16. Hi Monique, thanks for swinging by my blog. You said you liked the Robot, I generally print out lots of digis, pack my promarkers and colour whilst I am away - then I have fun when I get back finding papers and embellishments that match the coloured digis. I find that my colouring is brighter on holiday. Have a fun time in Italy. Happy WOYWW Cx #36

  22. Hi Monique...I loved the comment about "being". My yoga instructor always leaves us with that thought: more being, less doing. Which I have to say is a lovely thought and it does come back to me during the week, but there never seems to be enough time for me to be doing all the things I want to. (sorry for the whine). Have a fabulous vacation...enjoy Italy and doodling...i'm not very good either, but I do find the more I practice the better I get and then little by little it works it's way into other stuffs!!

  33. Thanks for dropping by and apologies for the late visit.

Everybody doodles well, they just don't realise it, yours are bright and colourful and very detailed. I have a tendency to get lost in mine, I do zentangles/zendoodles to relax sometimes.

Have a wonderful time in Italy.

    Take care

  37. I'm sure that whatever you take you will always wish you had taken one more thing with you! I usually prepare a small journal then add doodles and bits from my trip using a small glue stick. Those that don't get used are tucked into my video case or on one of the pockets in the journal. We are going to Italy in the Autumn and my kit will have to be smaller so maybe I will stick to doodling too! Enjoy your trip and I'll look forward to reading about it when you get back. Chrisx 120

  44. First off, I really envy you your trip to Italy. I hope the weather will be great for you. I'd just take sketch pads and pencils, maybe colored ones, because there is just so much to see and do there. A good camera can take photos of things to paint later. Your doodle here is beautiful.
